Upon arrival at the facility, created for the 2002 Winter Olympics, our group checked in and received cross-country ski passes, each worth two hours of trail skiing. For only $3 per youth, (20+ person group rate applicable) Soldier Hollow provides a trail pass, cross country ski equipment (or snowshoes), and a lesson. This special $3 ski rate applies when packaged with $8 for two hours of tubing.
So…from 11am – 1pm, our bunch, in mid-40 degree temperatures on a cloudless day, went cross-country skiing with a backdrop of the majestic Mt. Timpanogos, on a course where almost twelve years ago during the 2002 Winter Olympics, Italy’s “Tiny Tornado” Stefania Belmond suffered a broken pole in the women’s 15km freestyle, as a French coach handed her a replacement, and while it was too long, she eventually got the right size — and the gold medal!
After a great lunch, between 2-4 pm, our Troop 1ers turned in their skis, boots and poles for a hike up to the tubing hill, where all enjoyed tubing down their 1,200-foot length sliding lanes with lift service to tow you up to the top of the hill!

For $11/person….this is quite the deal! Sunday, March 16th, the hills will close for the winter season.
