A dozen members of Boy Scout Troop 1 joined several Cub Scouts from Cub Pack 1 at the George S. Eccles Ice Center earlier this week to have fun on the ice, and participate in their Edwin O. Gossner Jr. Scouting Program offered to area scouters which help them reach their scouting goals.
If area scout leaders pre-schedule their unit members with the Eccles Ice Center staff (435-787-2288), members of their unit can receive FREE on ice instruction (with admission fee) that will help them reach their advancement goals.
Cost is $6.00 admission & $2.00 Skate Rental, with group discounts offered with groups of 20 or more.
Scouts can earn:
Tiger, Cub, and Webelos - Skating Belt Loop or Pin
Boy Scouts - Skating Merit Badge
Venture Scouts - Portion of Winter Sports Elective

For BSA Skating Merit Badge, Requirement 1 must be taught by unit leaders to their scouts. All other areas in the “Ice Skating Option” can be earned at the Eccles Ice Center by merit badge counselor Ty Mortensen.
Skating Merit Badge Requirement 1:
Show that you know first aid for injuries or illnesses that may occur while skating, including hypothermia, frostbite, lacerations, abrasions, fractures, sprains and strains, blisters, heat reactions, shock, and cardiac arrest.
